Since being inspired to move my body a little more than walking and sleeping I have been tracking my progress.
On January 7 2017 I did my first exercise class in so many years (I don’t include yoga in this) as I started my journey of fitness with HIIT boot camps with Helen Turrell of BodyHit/BodyHappy. The classes incorporate high intensity interval training, with each exercise taking 20 seconds with a 10 second gap between them. You do two exercises per cycle of eight 20 second HIITs. So my measurements on Jan 7 make hard reading but in the interests of transparency here they are:
Chest 43 inches
Hips 46 inches
Waist 36 inches
After the first class I discovered muscles I did not know existed nor did I think they could impart the kind of pain I felt!
One month on and these are the results:
Chest 42 inches
Hips 44 inches
Waist 34 inches
Yes, that’s a whole 2 inches off my waist and hips. Boobs are irascible and refuse to reduce significantly in size, but I’m not worried about them anyway. But a whole 2 inches off waist is awesome! AND I’ve lost 3.5kg too.
All I have been doing is eating the kind of food I post recipes for on here and doing the weekly bootcamp.
