Smoothies

A smoothie is a wonderful thing.  As well as kidding yourself you are being healthy (well you are having fruit and veg and things!), it can be a yummy replacement for dessert, for those of you who struggle without something sweet at the end of a meal.  I cannot take responsibility for the recipes below.  They are all the wonderful concoctions of my other half, who has become addicted to our Nutribullet and loves experimenting, not always successfully, with flavours.  Here are a couple of my favourites:

Beetroot & Blueberry

1 banana

2 or 3 fresh beetroots, chopped

handful of frozen blueberries

tbsp. chia seeds

300ml of coconut milk

beetroot-smoothie-2

Blueberry & Pineapple

1 banana

Half a large pot of fresh chopped pineapple and juice (or quarter of a pineapple chooped)

handful of frozen blueberries

tbsp. chia seeds

300ml of almond milk

blueberry-smoothie

To make:

Throw all of the ingredients into the nutribullet press the button and voila!

Drink. Enjoy.  Feel good about yourself!

I know what you mean. We’ve tried the healthy looking ones and they taste ‘healthy’ too! My OH doesn’t do ‘health’ haha. But these are healthy and yum. Hope you enjoy them!
